History of Lost Tree

Initially nothing more than a mangrove swamp, the 450 acre area that would become Lost Tree Village was transformed into land ready for development through clearing, filling, and dredging which began in 1959. It was the last remaining large ocean tract in Palm Beach County, and E. Llwyd Ecclestone happened upon this undeveloped land while bicycling in 1945.
